Default h22 rpms vs b18 rpms

I have a 94 4 dr accord with a h22 and tranny i,h,e. My freind just got a 4 dr civic with a gsr motor in it w/ihe. I rode in his car and watched his rpms fly from 4500 to 9k. In my car my rpms from 5000 to 7600 dont seem to rev near as quick. He also pulled on me by a car. Do gsr just rev way quicker then h22s or could i have a problem. I never brought this to my attention till i felt how hard his vtec hit and how fast his rpms rised.

H22 motors aren't high reving motors. If built right, you can produce some good power out of them. Then again, you have a heavier car to begin with.

I wasnt worrying about how high they rev. I am trying to figure out if i did something wrong with my h22 swap. Bc i feel like the rpms arnt reving fast enough while in vtec.eseccially after riding in the gsr.

you have a car that weighs the same as a prelude so you pretty much are driving a stock prelude and civic with a gsr will definitely pull on you. accord h22 will run like a high 14 and and a gsr civic will run a mid 14

You should hear a little bit more.

B18 Motors have shorter stroke than H22A, so it will rev faster.

Combine that with the fact that B18s usually have a 4.4 Final Drive while H22A have a 4.26 Final Drive.

get a lighter flywheel, then you'll rev up faster

it will help, but the h22a isn't a revving motor at all.

I find this funny, maybe 14s strip to the bone.
