Default Eibach front strut tower bar

I am having fitment issues with an Eibach front strut tower bar that I recently bought for my 95 GSR. I have part number 4017.920 which Eibach lists as fitting civic 88-00, excl Del Sol VTEC. Eibach clarified the exception to be associated with the B16A.. and that 94-01 Integra should not have any fitment issues at all with the 4017.920.. including VTEC engines in those years.

The bar is not clearing the rubber hose/clamp off the valve cover near the oil filler cap. Does anyone here have experience with this bar? I would like to know if it's the bar or my car..

btw.. i have searched already.. and ai have also played with the tiny amount of adjustability on the Eibach bar itself. no luck.

thanks.

B16A and you GSR's B18C1 share the same valve cover. If it doens't work with a B16 then it probably won't work with a B18C1.

Take a pic and post it.

I explained that to Eibach right after I unsuccessfully installed the bar and they insisted that the only exception was the B16A on the Del Sol. I tried to tell them it didn't fit over my B18C1 and they just responded "we mount that bar on GSR's all the time without issues."

I'm selling the bar now, and chalking up this experience as poor Eibach fitment. Sadly for me though, because I really liked the engineering and design of the bar.

u could add a few washers under the strut bar mount to raise it up a little. i had to do that to fit my front bar with a b18c1 swap in my 2nd gen. but the most washers u can add and still bolt it down is like 3 or 4 1/10" washers.

I used all available adjustments built into the strut bar and it does not fit. I had everything in place as it should be. The bar smashes the breather valve tube.

The washer idea is not a really 'mechanically' sound thing to do. Raising the stress point to a higher spot on those bolts will not be good.

After researching many of the strut tower bars on the market, I have determined that most of them are junk. The Eibach was well designed and I am disappointed it doesn't fit my car. The only other bar I would consider is the Mugen at this point.

But rather than blow $350 on the Mugen.. I'm going design and machine my own parts. If I come up with a good prototype, I'll post it up here for you guys to check out.

Go with one that has no adjustment... ITR bar, Neuspeed 4 point, Benen 3 point, Carbing/Rigid. The Edelbrock one looks interesting

If I had to do it overagain I'd have skipped on my bars, ITR Rear and Front... no real difference, just for show.
