Default Must have's for installing JRSC

I recently purchased a JRSC and am calling on all Luders for advice on what to install along with it. The only mods I have are AEM short ram and a Greddy exhaust. Here is my list of upgrades when I install it any other suggestions are welcome

1. Stronger Clutch
2. Hondata or any other tuing equipment
3. Boost gauge
4. Upgraded pulley.

I agree with twisted. JRSC's are a dead end. Go turbo. Hondata s200 with boost and a p7s.

if you still want to jrsc, it's good to get a good header and a good exhaust system.

Roots systems are better on cars that actually need to go down to 3000 RPM's and back up again. Turbos are great for going straight.

Its for a 2000. I got a really good deal on it which is why I got it over a turbo. I got it for about half the cost of a pre made turbo kit.

Neither is necessary, waste of money.

keep in mind that if you do hondata on a prelude you will have to get an obd1 distributor and wire it in. we ran into this problem with a customer car and opted to put an aem ems on it so the factory wiring wouldnt have to be changed.

get some 450cc injectors and some real engine management with that thing. you should see 240-250hp on 6psi. the last one i did with boost peaking at 11psi at 4000 rpms and then droping to 6 at about 7000 made 215tq and 247hp. and that was tuned for saftey, not power. it made for a fun car,.

I agree, Turbo is for drag, IMO I think SC is best for Auto-X, turbo isn't my thing, too much time money tuning time and other things. I would rather run a decent set up with a JRSC at 6-7psi and get a decent amount of horsepower, not everyone needs to be the fastest prelude on the face of the earth, waste of money if you ask me, turbos that is.

Not true. OBDII ludes do NOT need an OBDI distributor to run Hondata.

I'm running the stock 6 psi. It's been street tuned by myself. I was running the 9 psi pulley, but the ultra high intake temps make it too much of a headache, and the gains are very minimal. 9 psi isn't worth it, I don't recommend it. It is too far out of the M62's efficiency range.

then how the hell do you make it work? we were using a chipped ecu with crome and kept getting a code 9.. cyp sensor, that sensor is not in the distributor.

we were logging over 200 deg intake temps with the 9psi pully spiking to 11+.. way too damn hot

I'm not sure what issue you were having running an OBDI ecu on an OBDII H22, but it is a fact that swapping distributors isn't necessary. It's plug and play with an OBDII->OBDI harness. What OBDI ecu were you trying to use, and was it on a 5th gen prelude, or another car?

Yup, I was seeing over 200 degree IATs with the "9" psi pulley as well. I was having to pull way too much timing to stave off detonation. I find it interesting that people running the stock 6 psi have made up to 240 whp, while I've never seen a 9 psi setup make more than 260. Not worth the headache, IMHO.

it was a 97 prelude with a obd2a to obd1 jumper and a p28 ecu.

i think it might be an issue with the 97-98 prelude.. 96-97 accords are the same way, they only have 2 sensors in the distributor, not 3 like everything else. i have talked to a few other people that have run into the same problem

Never heard of an issue on any year 5th gen lude, and people have been doing this for several years now. Very odd. Possibly a problem with the harness that was used?
