Default I misshifted in my R tranny dude...help

This tank of gas i was currently on.. i wasn't shifting over 3k rpms to see how miles i can get out of my 10gallon cx. I was already at 220miles and had a 1/3 to go...

but then i saw this mustang gt, new body style..bullet wheels. I raced him froma 2nd punch below vtec and pulled on him. As i was trying to shift into 4th..it didnt go. It was stuck...so i pulled harder and for some reason it went into 2nd

rpms raised car engine-braked, i quickly popped it out of gear/pushed the clutch in.

immediatly after...my car wouldnt go into any of the gears. the motor sounded fine as far as ticking went. I pulled into a gas station (rolled in) and tried to get my car into gear...it didnt. i revved the motor slowly and at 3.5k rpms... even less like 1.5k rpm... the motor shaked.. i could feel it through the steering wheel and the shifter. After a lot a force, i finally managed to get into 3rd. getting it into the gears were hard.. some times id have the rev the motor a little, and it would slip in.

do i need a new clutch/pressure plate? what is causing the vibration. Is the motor fine? on me

BTW, i have a 96spec jdm itr swap

possibley a shifter fork... also could be the clutch bolts coming loose... that same thign happened to me too and then found out that whoever installed my clutch forgot to put on loctite on the clutch bolts, so they eventually just started to sget loose and then no more pressure so the clutch ouldnt put my gears in gear, haha

unfortunatly, it could be any number of things, Your going to have to pull your tranny and start from there, check the clutch and flywheel first, if everything is ok there, dig into the tranny, or have someone that knows what they are doing look into it. I would guess shift forks, or broken clutch.

when the car is completely off, you can put the shifter into all the gears without ease (no need to press the clutch in)

when i start the car.. i can feel a vibration.

if it goes into gear with ease with the car off it's prob not ur tranny it's more than likely ur pressure plate or the actual disc itself

Best advice.

Guessing won't help - pull the tranny out and see for yourself bro.

ya pull it and check everything before u just go dump 490 dollars on a CM stage 3. Mine just went out and i just ordered that exact clutch it should be in by saturday so ill let u know how i like it, but it will work with the stock flywheel as long as it's machined

When you turn off your car will it go into the gears and then not go into gears when started? Start it in gear and the car goes? Sounds lie the clutch disk shattered!

I dont think its my valves? i dont hear ticking?
most people are saying the vibration is being caused by my pressure plate.
so since my pressure plate needs to be replaced... might as well replace my clutch.

what can i do to see if its my valves. Can i listen fo it when i start my car in idle and rev it from the throttle?

Will it go into gears with the motor off? If so, the clutch disk springs may have exploded, causing it to be constantly engaged. This happened to me in my old crx and I had to drive w/o a clutch pedal...and having to start the car in 1st gear every time I stopped.

sorry. I was being lazy. I bet your clutch disk springs blew out, locking the disc into place. It would probably be good to get a new disc, pplate, and flywheel (or at very least resurface your existing. I am almost sure this is what happened to yours.

clutch master stage 3 was put in friday and i LOVE IT it makes the car so much easier to drive, and the reason my car wouldn't go into the gears is because the little pieces of metal that held the springs in the hub tore out and the springs were able to leave the hub, locking up the pressure plate from being able to relase the disc from the flywheel and ya it's like 20-50 bux to get the fly wheel re-serfaced the spec sheet from CM said to make it .110'' if i remember correctly, just call and make sure

i just watched the video it's nothing in ur tranny it's doing the EXACT same thing my did if u pull the clutch off i'll bet the springs in the hub are all fucked up if it was ur tranny it would be howling and making all all kinds of weird sounds when u are trying to put it into gear
