Lots of people know what an ECU mod is. And if you used the search feature, you could know too.

The Crower 404's are pretty crazy. I wouldn't run them without a fully built engine, very high compression and some form of programmable engine managment (the ecu mod) such as AEM or Hondata. Hell, I wouldn't even run the 402's without at least PR3 pistons.

yes you need it.
the cams are pretty wild. and without the proper ECU tuning it wont run very well and you probably wont see very good gains.

I emailed Crower about what feature modification they were refferencing with the ECU mod. IF it was just to fix redline or what. But they never replied to me .
Also, I wouldnt tell everyone to put way high compression with 404z and leave it at that. High compression + 404 = mega close clearance issues with the valves. It isnt recommened to advance the cam gears past 1 degree.. If you have 10.5+Compression + 404s it is probably a good idea to take your ITR,CTR, Forged piston to the machine shop and have them grind the valve relief down further. Just to be on the safe side. You never know what some jackass on the dyno might advance your cam timing too far .. and tell you "sorry"
