Default question about gsr valve springs... i did some searching and didn't really find.

i hear the gsr outer valve springs, both sides are stiffer than the ITR springs. if thats the case then would i only need stiffer inners springs (like some inline4s or even stock ITR) to run ITR cams?

also if i go to stiffer inners like the inline4s, how high a lift cam do you think is OK?

i know that the skunk2 stage 1 if fine on ITR valvetrain, what about a stage 2 on the gsr outers and ITR or inline4 inners.

also should i be concerned about having 137K miles on the gsr valve springs?

not trying to be cheep on my set up, i just don't want to spend money where i don't need to, especially if i know i will never go over the lift of ITR cams to skunk2 stage 2 cam range.

any info is appriciated.

-- That's almost true. GSR intake v.springs & ITR exhaust v.springs are the same exact spec (blue paint markings in the springs indicate this). The intake springs are what differ between GSR & ITR v.springs. So you'd only need to run a set of inner & outter ITR intake v.springs to match type-R spec v.springs. BTW, ITR intake springs have yellow paint markings.

-- I'm not sure on this, you'll have to ask them

i know that the skunk2 stage 1 if fine on ITR valvetrain, what about a stage 2 on the gsr outers and ITR or inline4 inners.

-- I believe you'll wanna use a stiffer inner spring such as the il4 or portflow, for both intake & exhaust sides of the head. GSR & ITR inner springs are too soft a spring for the SK2-st2 cams, if I'm not mistaken.

also should i be concerned about having 137K miles on the gsr valve springs?

-- nah, Honda motors are robust, your valvetrain (besides changing out the v.springs) should be fine.
