Wondering if anyone knows if emissions checks your guage cluster's mileage when you go for emissions inspection in Il. Had to ask since i swapped a jdm cluster on there and will have to go on friday to get emissions, wanna know if i have to swap it back to the usdm cluster.

Swap it back to the US cluster. I'm sure that would be a good idea all over the USA. You don't want to be caught for mileage fraud.

 

Really depends on where you live and the requirements and who you know. Different possibilities, but in Georgia they have to have a mileage reading for you to register the car. And emissions have to be done to re-register every year if your car is over 2 years old. So I would check with local members just like Chris said.

 

i know they write the mileage down from mine, so i switch them back after the emissons tests. but since i only been putting 6 miles on my car a year im exempt* from the test anyway.

* under 5000 miles are year in pa makes you emissions exempt

I'm actually headed next week too. Too bad otherwise I would ask when I go in. I would think it would be best to swap it back however, as it could present a problem in the future

The only thing they look at is your gas meter. Dont go there on an almost empty tank.

Not 100% sure, just go to the one on canal street.

 

Chris is right...check w/the team-integra IL forum. Many guys in there know the system...including one guy that I know...totally can't believe he passed (had a test pipe and passed, very impressive).

Post in there...someone will know.

I'm waiting for my cat to come in from Hytech, which should be here tommorrow at the latest. Hopefulyy I'll have it put on and I'll take it to emissions the same day. I'm either going to the one in Lincolnwood on Touhy or the one on Webster and Ashland. Lmk.

took my emissions today n it only took five mins.. they didn't even read the odometer just asked me while i was sitting in the car how many miles on the car then checked the ecu n that was it. Spent an hour switching the clusters for no reason, speaking of which anybody have a spare motherboard(green film behind the cluster) available preferrably 98 n up.. please so that i don't have to disassemble everytime.

Yes dumbass! And why the hell do you have emission before I do? I bought my car like a whole 6 months before you got yours!
