Default 90 civic with ZC motor,,,,,, LS ECU????

hey guys do i need the SI wiring harness to make this work? it runs with out it but really cruddy. ive also heard from a local import shop owner that u can change 3 wires and it would work just like the SI wiring harness.

you are supposed to ALWAYS use the harness that came w/ the car, not the motor.

What the ZC needs is some wires moved (maybe extended too). The CPS (Crank pos sensor) on your stock si Motor (d16a6) is located inside the dist. On the ZC it is located on the end of the exhaust cam.

Other then that i think thats all you really need to worry about. Can anyone else add to this? BTW, use the pm6 (stock Si ECU) until you can get a TRUE ZC ecu.

im freaking confused. i can tell you anything about mazda's and what goes where. but this civic is confusing, it has the ZC motor in it. i know that, and i picked up a LS ECU and a multi-port fuel injection manifold the other day, im just trying to get this ecu working right now. do i have to run a new wire? hook something else up or should it be plug and play?

ok im assuming that you civic is a std or a dx with a dual point injection system. k what you need from a mpfi system is the whole complete intake manifold, injectors, fuel rail, dist, resistor box, si throttle cable, idk if youll need the fuel line or not someone else should be able to clarify that, and ecu. then you gotta do the dpfi to mpfi swap, then the ls ecu will plug right in to the ecu plugs assuming its an obd0 ecu.

alright i do have this multi port fuel injection system with the fuel rail and injectors. i dont have the dist, resistor box or the throttle cable. i also dont have the connection for the electrial on the fuel injectors. any idea on what to do with that? and the civic is the LX model. and this PR4 LS ecu plug right in, just runs shitty. i think i need to have this manifold on it beofre it will run right.
is this right?

oh yeah i forgot, you need an si harness so you can take plugs and wires off of it. you need the mpfi dist and resistor box.. but i thoguht i remember reading somewhere about someone just looping his dx throttle cable around the engine bay and used it in his zc swap. but once you get everything then you can do the dpfi to mpfi conversion and that should make it run good with the ls ecu

but did you ever think about just getting a dx ecu to run the dual point and your car should run fine.
