What can i do to my ls?
what can i do to my ls to make it fast. I have 110k mile on it so i want to get something done so i will get another 110k trouble free miles out of it. I dont want to turbo or supercharge it yet but i am thinking of it. For now i just want an all motor integra that is fast. what can i do to make it quick????
thanks
thanks
a gsr engine with 40k miles, or you can do i/h/e and a nice set up cams with gears and put it on a dyno, with that setup on mine before my turbo i would beat my share of gsr's.
How much are u lookin to spend? What kinda of power are you lookin for? Any 1/4 mile times you wanna shoot for? Like what goal are you after, more input would help!
I'd be weary of doing anything to add alot of power to a motor with over 100k on it.. Of course, u can, but over time, the rings start to wear a bit, the cylinder walls may have a little scarring, your combustion chamber may have build-up, etc etc..
Basically i'm saying that if u want more than basic bolt-ons, get your motor compression tested/leakdown tested, etc etc to check for any weaknesses where more power may cause premature failure..
Personally I'd sell it, and go buy a GSR that's 2 years younger for $3-4k more.. So u basically have a motor swap with 40-50k less miles on it in a newer chassis.. just a thought..

u have to ask yourself are u going to keep this motor 110k miles is alot. i have 115k on mine and i had to practically rebuild it. there can my a number of things that are going to happen soon to your car. i would suggest dropping in a low mileage GSR engine or if u really want to or dont have the money u can drop in a low mileage LS engine. ive seen LS engines go for under 2000$ i guess they are really unpopular. if u go with keeping it a LS motor is all-motor going to suit u or will FI suit u better. u can do all kinds of things to make it go faster i/h/e cams/cam gears, fuel delivery, higher compression, clutch, wiegh reduction, advance timing, port&polish, NOS, and the list goes on............................ good luck with ur car.
