I bought mandrel bends from Jegs (local) and used an old FMIC from a conquest. I had someone weld aluminum pipes on the sides of the intercooler and patch the top holes. After that, I just planned out my path and used the mandrel U pipes as best as I could having as few connections as possible.
Total cost was about $45 for the intercooler. $40 for bends $25 for connectors (I had some laying around).
I have one connection between the intercooler and intake, and 1 connection between the turbo and intercooler. (not including the connections to the intercooler, turbo, and throttle body.
The purchased kits are nice, but you get a lot of satisfaction from doing it yourself I think. I used a greddy turbo, manifold, and DP, and I wish I had made those on my own now too... (next time I will).
