squeeky noise coming from inside head?
I don't really know how to describe this, but I'll try the best I can:
There is a continuous squeeky/high pitch "whee whee whee.." (don't poke fun) coming from what I think is the lower part of my head. The noise just started. Moreover, it's coming from just under the headers, and a bit over to the left - this is from the perspective of standing right in front of the car. Pretty much where the VIN number and the B18C1 code is. The noise is constant.
I have no clue what this could be. I'm getting a bit worried. Anyone have any ideas? Any experience with something like this?

how can we not poke fun at "whee whee whee.." lol Just kiddin' man.
Anyways, from where you describe it at, by the engine code on the block, it almost sounds as if the squeak is coming from the clutch. Could be a throw out bearing maybe. When the car is running next time, see if there is a change in the noise when you engage/disengage the clutch pedal.

I think you're right on target. I just discovered today that the noise goes away whenver I depress my clutch. Damn. How much is this going to cost? And is this a normal wear and tear problem? Or is it a mechanical failure?
its just a factor of mileage. Usually its replaced when a clutch is done, But some mechanics dont to save you money. But ends up costing you more money in the future. neways. It shouldent cost more than 1 hr of labor. When a clutch is done. so you are looking at some $$$.
Factor of Mileage?
My car's got a little less than 30k miles.
So this is a driver related thing eh? No possibility of a warranty covering this?

Just take it to the dealer if your car is still under warranty and see if it will be covered.
Just remember that throwout bearings can wear out prematurely if you do things like sit at a stop light w/ the car in gear and clutch disengaged. You should never hold the clutch disengaged longer than to just change gears while the car is running because it puts excessive wear on the throwout bearing.

Damn it, did not know that. Here goes another wad of dough. By the way, how much would it cost to get this repaired/fixed?

I have pushed my foot all the way down on the clutch quite frequently, so i'm assuming this is the throw-out bearing.

Sounds like we've got this one narrowed down. Also, once you replace that, there is an adjustment for the pedal height as well.
But, with faulty clutch related components, it would not be worth making sure all is adjusted right until the worn parts are replaced.

I think the throwout bearing itself is around $40-$50, so it's pretty much just that plus the cost of removing the transmission, replacing the bearing and putting the transmission back on. With a lift and air tools and transmission jack, etc. I could probably do it by myself in 2-3 hours TOPS so I wouldn't pay for more than 3 hours of labor, 4 at the MOST, if in fact you do end up having to pay for it.

Please!! Before you spend money on having the tranny serviced, please check the fluid level.
Remember that when the clutch is out that the gears in the tranny are turning (In Neutral they are turning, but not engaged in any gear)
and when clutch is IN the gears are not turning, because you dis engaged the FW and tranny.
I had heard this squeak before, and it was due to improper fluid level.

Good point, you might just want to go ahead and change the tranny fluid if you've never done it or had it done.

hmm...fluid level? If the fluid level is low, would that be a sign of a leak, my car is only a 2001.
Maybe that would be covered under warranty? If it is indeed a defective leak.
And I was thinking that it might be the throw-out bearing because, I oftentimes keep my foot pushed all the way down on the clutch. Sometimes at a light, sometimes while coasting. Damn...I didn't think it would do any harm. Damn...ignorance WAS bliss, until NOW!
