repairing carbon fiber
my carbon fiber hood is crackin really bad cause i fucked up on installing hood pins. now i wanna remove the pins. is there anything i can buy to fill up the holes and cracks? if i do that, i plan to paint the whole hood the same color as my car...no bondo though, i heard that **** doesnt hold up too well
You will have to use some form of body filler (i.e. bondo) to fill the holes for the hood pins. Just tell a bodyshop that you need it painted, that should take care of any problems with the clearcoat cracking.
We've repaired broken lips before. Just use fiberglass resin to bond the broken/cracked piece together, then apply lots of clear to the front side. After it adheres and dries, then polish/buff the clear and it'll look almost just a good as it did when you first got it with maybe the weave looking a lil off (depending on how well you use the resin in the first place with the CF weave).

you can buy it. Not sure where you'd go in your area. I usually just go to TAP Plastics locally out here.
