Default Havin trouble with Hondata... HELP!!!

Okay, I am so frustrated, I can do anything. I have had the worst luck with installing my Hondata and RC 440 injectors. I am starting to think there is something wrong with the Hondata unit. I have removed all of the JR components and installed the RC injectors and The Hondata Unit. Which by the way is an S200 and Computer unit from hondata. Everything is supposed to be ready to run my car, but with the Hondata plugged in I cant get the car to run. When I start it, it will rev and then die. If I try to hold a higher rpm (3000-4000) the revs jump up and down.???!!!?!?!?! When I plug in the factory comp it seems to idle okay, its a little rough, but I am guessing that is because of the 440 injectors. I cant get a good answer from anyone at Hondata, or anywhere for that matter. Also, with the factory comp If I try to hold the higher rpms everything seems fine, I can rev the car up and down wihtout any trouble. As one would expect, with the 440's and the factory comp the car is rich, but with the hondata the car is extremely lean. The wideband wont even register how lean because it stops at 20:1. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

first do you have the emulator datalogging thing or are you just burning the chip, second it should still idle with 440's, and make sure the chips that are suppose to be in there arent faceing the wrong way...yeah the tech guy matt is an *** so dont expect much help from him...i m sure if you talk to someone else they can help you better though

I dont have any of the programming stuff, but it was supposed to come with the map for my setup. I am not sure which chips you are talking about. And yes, I have figured out that much about matt. He seems to want to blame everything else. First he said it was a vac. leak, then he said it was the MSD, then .... well, you get the point. I am going to open the top of the comp to see what chips.

Yes, it was supposed tp have the new tune already in it for a JRSC type R running 11lbs of boost. What I bought was the setup that Jackson Racing is selling. It is the S200 and what I believe is a p28 computer. (not really sure what comp it is) anyway, Is there any way for me to tell what tune is in it without having the romulator?

Well ****. I guess I will have to send the damn thing in to hondata. This is starting to suck! Well, thanks for your help guys. Just to be sure its not something I did wrong, is there any way I could have erased or messed up the base map without having the romulator and all that crap. The only thing I have is the button.

Okay, the light comes on and stays on. The funny thing is, earlier, I opened the external rom deal and there are three spots where it looks like there should be something but there isnt. You think maybe they forgot to put in the chips? The spots I am talking about are labeled 'J4' 'J5' and 'J6' They are basically just a series of pins sticking straight up.

make sure all connections in your actual car wiring harnesses are good and together.
maybe vacuum leaks
my buddy got the set map from hondata to, but set to 9psi w/ 440cc.
his car wasnt idling at all either, and it was a vacuum leak

just a thought

The little that I could get the car running I checked for vac leaks and couldnt find any. Plus, with the stock computer it runs?

Okay, for an update... I still cant get any results. I have removed all of the aftermarket stuff I had. I now have the factory ignition, plug wires, fuel line and filter, and throttle body. I think the plugs are shot at this point, so I will change them and try some more. Does anyone know a good way to check for vacuum leaks when the car is not running? As frustrated as I am, I am going to figure this out. (I just hope it doesnt come back to be the Hondata, talk about pissed) I had a long conversation with Matt today, and he was explaining to me that if the light comes on and stays on then there is a base map in there. He also explained that even if it was the wrong map the car should still idle. So now I am just trying to chase down everything. Tomorrow I am going to re-check my connections and put the stock injectors back in with the stock computer. Okay, I guess that about covers it. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

thanks

With the new plugs installed, the car will now start up and idle. The idle is at around 800rpm and is kinda rough. I can also rev the car at this point. however, the car is still very lean. I checked the timming and it is 20+ with the distributor retarded all the way. This leads me to believe there is a problem within the computer. Does the hondata have any control over the initial timming? If there is anyone in the knoxville area with a romulator and related software, I would appreciate a little help.

thanks

Another funny thing, does the hondata effect the warm up cycle? usually the car starts up and idles high for a few minutes and then steps down to the idle. now, the car just starts and drops to 800 rpm. (the car normally idles at 900-950)

Well, I sent the s200 and computer in to Hondata. Matt benched tested it and even put it in his car. Everything checks out good. so now I have the s200 and ecu eliminated. All i can figure is there is a problem with the injectors??? I dont know what could be wrong. they all check out to be working. Oh, also, I put the stock computer and stock injectors back in and everything works perfect. (thats why i have narrowed it down to the injectors.) Once again, i will keep everyone updated.
