Default 97 accord ex

ok im young and dont know much about cars but i am going to get one soon, a 97 accord sedan..i have helped my other friends install just general bolt-on parts and i kind of helped my cousin on his s13 redtop(sr20) motor swap on his 240sx..im not gonna rice this accord out like what other boys do with their hondas but ima make a clean look. ive been lookin into the h22 swap for my accord for a while..but i have a very very stupid newbie question and please dont rat on me for this, but if i were to swap my engine for the h22..would i have to buy the prelude parts or will some accord parts still fit on my engine like headers..intake and supercharger? sorry for my newbie(ness) feel free to leave any comments

the JRSC wouldn't clean the firewall if I am not mistaken.

exhaust part=need prelude part

you'll better off using the prelude mount and tranny also.

intake should be fine but that's only if the diameter is 3inch.

start saving up

some parts are interchangeable.....but ull get prelude **** when it comes to the engine + engine bay, and get accord stuff for suspension, etc......btw, ull be happier if u use a 5spd prelude tranny, as opposed to the accord.......if u do play on turboing/supercharging, ur gonna end up spending nearly $10K to do it properly, allow the car to handle that much power (axles, beefing up internals), get it dynoed and tuned by a professional.....etc......good luck, welcome to the accord family

damn iam7head......you beat me to it

depends what version......H22A4 is probably what u want......i believe thats 190~200hp......check the Basic Guide to Accords for more info.......

$10k is figuring building the block for high boost (turbo/SC).....axles, cause ur accord's axles WILL break w/ that much power.....the turbo/sc itself......fuel management system & related materials (injectors, fuel rail).......ECU....suspension upgrades to handle the power.....+ getting it all instaled and tuned......in fact, thats probably over $10K.......

"if u wanna play, u gotta pay"

well if you wanna turbo an h22a you dont want an h22a4 because its open deck... you want a usdm h22a1 out of a 92-95 prelude. this has lower compression than the jdm so ur already a lil better for turbo than the jdm h22a. you will have to build the bottom end and more than likely the top end too (im not much of a turbo enthusiest...) and then you can prolly turbo the living hell out of that thing. good luck on whatever you decide man

its 93-96 USDM prelude

not by much. the JDM c/r is 10.6:1 and the USDM is 10:1, so either way you should lower the compression ratio a few points.
