how do the people at honda inspect your LEASED CAR before you return it???
hey just got a couple questions my lease is gonna be up next year on my 00 gs teg shitty auto!!! and anyways i was wondering are the lease inspectors pretty rigorous when inspecting your leased car??? do they go over it with a fine tooth comb?? are just look at it normally, and if i were to leave lets say a set of COMPTECH springs that only drop the car .75 inches would i get penalized for it???? i figure that if its an acura product they woulnt say anything? is anyone here knowldgable about this stuff??
I had a buddy return a leased car and the dealer RAPED him - for tiny scratches & dents (normal wear n tear) - I don't know about the springs - how old are they?
I believe they will try to rape you too on every little thing they can bring up. On my friend's car, they were totally **** about the bumper. The dealer doesn't want even a tiny hair like scratch on it. They also looked very carefully at the door for any imperfections and the front of the hood for rock dings. Also make sure your oem rims look as nice as it could. As for modifcation like springs, I'm not sure either. But my guess is best to return it to oem ones. Goodluck

I returned a 98 GSR.. imaculate condition except the inside indiglo gauges and a dimmer switch mounted to the dash..
they never asked for a single dime...
it all depends on who picks up your car and who goes over it.. whoever got my old car got one hell of a good deal out of it..

just a quick question.. why would you mod a leased car? isnt that a complete waste of money and time if you are investing in something thats not yours?

Id agree - put it back to OEM...
You dont know how much **** raping your gonna endure if they catch it..
and that way u can sell the spings and get some of your money back.
why dont u call the dealership and talk to someone about it.. (annoymously of course) maybe they wont even care.. Most of the time they only care about aesthetics - **** dumb ppl would whine about and make the car harder to sell - scratches and dents. Ppl like that dont care about the 5 grand sunk into modifications that they would be getting for free.
"This 10 sec RX-7 TT has a scratch in the bumper!!!
Im not paying $2 for this car!" lol

well to answer o9ur question kendog i originally was inteding on buying the car whihc is the reason why i had begun to mod it, but i now i have an 8 months old daughter and having the 2 door right now isnt an ideal thing, which is why i opted to return the car back to stock and when the lease is up, i will retunt it and try to get a hold of a 4 door geeser. as far as the car being ok i plan on having all dents and dings and scratches taken cared of before returnign the car, so i am not to worried about that part, what i am worried about is that my stock springs will not settle properly on my car i will take pics and post them here in a few days so you guys will no what im talking about, springs have been put in correctly and yes! they are on the right sides, but my back end still wont settle. its about 2 and 1/2 inches raised above stock.......any one got any good ideas, i still have a year left on the car but i want to have this prob resolved ASAP
If I were in your situation, I would either slap some CHEAP aftermarket springs on it that are as close to OEM as you can find, or I would get your OEM springs heated and compressed or cut a few days prior. I know that is just plain wrong to do to ANY car... but you're not keeping the car... let it be someone elses problem. Just make it seem perfect to the dealer
a guy from th e leasing company comes first. u have to make an appointment with him. then when u trade the car in the dealership will go over and then sell it for 15500-16900. trust me just sell it on your own or whatever. just get a seet of itr springs on it. theyre OEM honda parts
Find someone in your area with an old G3 Integra and ask him to trade the whole springs/shock assembly with you. Also, you can get him to take care of the swap. Everybody wins! He gets new springs and shocks, you get your car returned to stock.
I think the set of new ITR springs would be a guaranteed win... they are already a tas bit lower so you won't have to wait as long for the car to "look" settles if you are in a hurry to dump it. payoff is the way to go though, and sell it on your own
**** YA THAT IS SUCH AN AWESOME IDEA!! yes!, i will do that...does anyone know someone looking to sell up their ITR springs if not what i would do is still buy the comptechs springs of my friend for 50$(brand new) and if i still cant put them on, i will sell them or trade them up for some R springs...shweet, but i still need to speak to my parents since they are helping me out (kid and all) thanks again guys for thee good feedback!!!!!!
dude it all depends my mom returned her leased integ with low miles but a couple of kick a!! dents . Before I returned it I took every bolt on off.. they new but they didnt trip. When I leased my 98 gsr I just said f#$K it and financed the remainder of the balance . I had to much crap on that ride..... you may just want
to finance it , and sell it in the auto-trader .... try to break even.

I lease too and mine's up in August. My residual is only $12,500, so I'm buying the car and should at least break even. I have too much stuff on my car to just turn it back in. I decided this a while ago, and that's why I started adding all of the stuff.
Don't 98 GSRs go for ~14,500 now? I figure that's what my '99 will go for in August, hopefully more with the mods I have.
