Climate control console light's off!
i drive a 96 accord and i think the bulb in my climate control console went out. The part i'm refering to is the buttons that are lined up accross next to each other directed the air. That specific line of buttons doesn't light up, i'm assuming the bulbs went out but i've never attempted to take out the climate console, i've done searches and if there's a thread out there for this, than obviously i haven't searched hard enough. I was just wondering if anybody has ever taken out their climate control console to replace the bulb and if so, what are the specific screws and what do i need and what do i need to do? thanx in advance H-T members
It sounds like the bulb burnt out. I believe its either a instrument light (74) or another bulb (196). Just take off your trim and then there should be 3-4 bolts/screws holding it in, remove those and then detach the climate control wire (it attaches to your temp ****) and once you get your climate control out just take out the bulb thats burnt out and replace
Are these special bulbs or can you find replacements at an auto parts store?
I have the same problem as the original poster but my gearshift lights are also out.

You should be able to find those bulbs in your local auto parts store like i said the bigger bulbs in the cluster, climate control etc are 194 (same as side marker in the 4th/5th gen) and the smaller one are either labeled as "instrument bulbs" or as bulb type number 74....
