What do you guys think of ITR look-a-likes?
I was looking at 97 type r's and i really love the way they look. How they are different from 98-01's.I was wondering if you guys would think it would be bad if i was too add a type r spoiler and lip.Do you think that is a no no?The car could look very very close too a 97 R.I would need too paint molding and side skirt too.But im not sure if it would be considered bad since its not really a type R.What do you think?
you know i had to read your post like 3 times before i got what you were trying to ask.
** i think if you got the front chin spoiler for your 94-97 teg it would look nice. Make sure its paint matched correctly or it will look like crap.
BTW the 97 type r lip will not fit 98+

Yup i already do have the interior already.I think im gonna go for it as well.I will never be able too afford a type R.I think the average is like 17-18k for one.Considering its not worth the extra 13k that i payed over my car imo.But i do love the way they look.I will probably just convert it over too a itr copy.Anyone have any pics of type r clones?

I added the ITR front lip and painted my sideskirts because I like the look of the ITR more then the standard integra. Do what you want and you will be happy!

Do what you like. I'm gonna get my side moldings shaved off like the ITR's. I already have ITR seats, center console, and door panels. OEM kit makes my Integ look alot like a Type-R.
I use to have an ITR Spoiler, but I took it off. Now spoilerless. As long as you don't put Type-R stickers on the side of your, you should be fine with swapping in ITR parts.

awesome ya i was going too do all the same things.Well paint moldings and side skirts and lip.Now i know putting type R stickers on there would be bad,but would you still consider it being bad if everything and i mean everything was converted too full type R including jdm front end?

I was going to say feel free to put on the kit and the wing, but don't put on the decals. I think that's going too far.

But i love the parts, and I'm not trying to pass off the car as an R, It just makes me happy, which is ultimately what is most important, ie, being happy w/ your car. So do what you want w/ it. if that means getting altezzas and 18" chromes, go for it, its your car, so do what u want w/ it.

everything included the motor and suspension... if you're missing that and the other little tid bits... you haven't converted everything... just to be safe I would go with what this guy said

why put on the stickers? so you have to defend yourself when people say its "fake" and in the end they will always be right? and you will always be wrong?
just to the cosmetics mods and it'll be called "clean", put on a "Type-R" sticker and you'll be instant rice.

yes i was saying everything. And why do you have too defend it?Just admit it and tell them the truth."I will never be able too afford the type R and i could justify spending 18k on a car i could get for 4k then spend 1k more in making it look like a type R.Yes it is a fake, but i still have 13k more that i wouldnt have too take a loan out for that i could put into the engine. It is fake but i also think its smart"
Also i know im gonna get flammed up the *** for this. But i know alot of people will get the stickers and put them on like civic dx's and ****.I know i hate it too.But i think its different when a car use's real oem parts and has the car look identical except the vins.I think its ok then, too have a itr decal
one thing though. the more you make it look like an ITR, the higher the chance it'll be stolen.
say you have an RS, and u got 5 lug conversion with ITR rims, full ITR interior, ITR lip, ITR wing, shaved moldings. people will think its an ITR with or without the emblems. so becareful

Yes, as long as the owner doesn't put the decals on it, and doens't try to say it's an R, then it's ok in my book. I actually took the decals off of my car trying to get people to think it's not an R.

Keep telling yourself that, because it won't make any difference. When in NC, I live way the hell out in the middle of nowhere and keep my car garaged. The thieves actually broke into the house and stole the keys and then took the car. All out in the middle of nowhere. Fortunately it was found 9 days later, with only a stripped interior and a missing strut bar.
