oil leak?
I've never had mine leak, but, why does that leak look so much lower than the seal ? Or does the oil just come out of the bottom of the seal and therefore it looks like it is leaking lower than it actually is ?
Just curious....

It's really easy to do. Just pop off the valve cover and change the seal. You don't need to remove the cams. However, if you have a VTEC engine you need to remove the exhaust side cam plate.
While your at it change your valve cover gasket and spark plug seals. Also, you need to use some Hondabond/Permatex Grey on the cover and the seal.

Mine leaked from the VTEC valve gasket, where it's bolted against the head. It was hidden behind the valve, & collected on that little tab of the headgasket. I'm pretty certain mine didn't leak from the cam seal, but I didn't know that until it was apart.

To change the cam seal, you'll have to take off that plate over top of all the cam caps, then take off the last cam cap on the back end of the exhaust cam.

I replaced my old original rubber cam seal w/ the new redesigned OEM one (plastic w/ o-rings) about 30K miles ago, zero leaks since then.
The newer OEM seal is only about $5.

does anyone have a how-to on how to change that seal? and all the seals for that matter? what seals and gaskets should you buy?
where do you put the hondabond? more pics please.

Read MY posts - I said which gaskets I replaced. Just unbolt the components (vtec valve, solenoid, etc.) Carefully remove the old gaskets; a couple of mine tore when I took them off. (Don't scratch the aluminum surfaces - d'oh!) Put the new gaskets on & bolt the stuff back up. It's really that simple.
The only hard one is the cam plug. You have to remove the last cam cap, part of which sticks outside of the valve cover. You use a little bit of HondaBond (grey permatex) where that thing bolts down to the head itself. You'll see it when you take it off.

My cam seal leaked too. B18B. the Covering end plate was a biotch to get off. It is suppose to have sealant on the bottom of it so its extra hard. But replaced mine with a $25 STR Metal cam seal. 2 big dual orings.. and i put hondabond HT on it and then reseated the cap
