When rushing through a Valve Adjustment..
Haha not a big deal, happens to all of us. Pull the VC off, remove the broken stud and screw a new one in.

7.2 ft-lbs is spec I believe... I always just snug it with a 1/4" ratchet to ensure I don't put much torque on it.

no big deal .. ive done that before ... those studs are cheap and easy to replace... much cheaper than paying for the valve adjustment

Why not? I drove around with a broken one on my ls for like 20k miles before i swapped in my b16

IMO, the best way to do this if you don't have a torque wrench, is to put the 10mm socket on a 3" extension and hand tighten it (no ratchet).
