Default When rushing through a Valve Adjustment..

don't get wrench-happy when completing the final step.

Haha not a big deal, happens to all of us. Pull the VC off, remove the broken stud and screw a new one in.

People dont realize how little torque those nuts actually require.

7.2 ft-lbs is spec I believe... I always just snug it with a 1/4" ratchet to ensure I don't put much torque on it.

they really require very lil torque

no big deal .. ive done that before ... those studs are cheap and easy to replace... much cheaper than paying for the valve adjustment DIY

I dont see the pictures but I was told from the very beginning to lightly torque with a 1/4" ratchet.

Why not? I drove around with a broken one on my ls for like 20k miles before i swapped in my b16

IMO, the best way to do this if you don't have a torque wrench, is to put the 10mm socket on a 3" extension and hand tighten it (no ratchet).

Honda rips you off on those. Here in seattle they were like 15 bucks a stud and 5 dollars for the cap nut.

That happened to me once too. Make sure you use some thread-locker (blue) on the cap-nuts or they will come loose on you.
