im wondering what dimensions i need to stay under to have an intercooler that will fit behind my bumper without modifications.

 

Well more importantly, how much power are you looking at getting? That will determine the size IC you need. You can always cut the bumper support and other things to accomodate larger IC's.

well im pretty sure ill get an SC61 and a lovefab SST manifold, if that answers any questions. im not really sure

 

sounds like a 400whp combo with that turbo. are you building the h23 by any chance?

If you are going for 400, run at least a 8x3x24" core intercooler.

i wont have more than about 800-1000 dollars after the turbo setup. i would like to build what internals i can on the motor, what would you suggest would be most important? sleeving?

 

800-1000 is not enough to go into the internals.

Just finish your turbo set-up, invest in a nice EMS, have it tuned, and do not go anymore then 8psi if this is your daily driver. Also, I have a GUDE intake manifold I ran on my old set-up if you are interested in purchasing it. It is a great addition when going FI on the h23a motor.
