A stock CTR/ITR valvetrain will easily handle the cams to a reasonable rev limit. Stiffer springs will introduce unnecessary wear and parasitic losses, aftermarket (titanium) retainers will need periodic inspection, and there really isn't a need to upgrade the valves themselves.

The CTR/ITR springs are dual. If you're looking for a bit of extra "security", you might want to upgrade the inner springs to Portflows.

Some people choose to buy just the ITR/CTR intake springs and move their existing intake springs to the exhaust side, but with the prices/availablity of a full set of ITR springs, it shouldn't be very expensive to run the entire set.

thanks! one more question. should i get the itr outer springs and stiffened inner springs from inlinefour.com for $240 plus tax (32 piece set) or should i go through heeltoeauto.com and get the complete itr 32 piece set for $185? are the stiffened inner springs worth the xtra $55 bucks? thanks, Sal

its worth it if you plan on going pass stock redline often. but then those cam probably stop making power in the upper rpms.
