Convert to 5spd and Cat Converter questions
My friends and I are working on a 91 honda accord just for practice, so far we put header, cold air, 2 1/4 piping, crank shaft pulley, aem cam, cam gear, pulley system. My buddies and i are thinkin if we should take off the catylitic converter for extra power, anyone know if its worth it, i dont care about emmitions, i can always put it back on.
also, its an automatic, it goes 0-30 in about 3 seconds but then once it shifts to second u feel all the power drained, transmission could be shot so im thinkin of converting to a 5spd, opinions on that as well, if u wanna talk to me on AIM for more questions or what not its cchris1109

a 5 speed conversion is definitely a possbility...on a 4th gen there would be a tad bit of welding involved for the tranny mount, but it isn't anything someone with a set of tools and some creativity can't accomplish...
as for the cat, you will notice pretty nice gains if you remove it, as you exhaust would truly be free flowing at that point...but don't expect it to sound pretty...
