d15b7 cat delete....power gain? if any?
Got a 93 civic lx sedan as my daily,i noticed all the exhaust pipes are new,but the shop that did it deleted the catalytic converter. They just welded in what looks like a 2 inch pipe.My question:is there a power gain if any.I know 102 hp when the motor was new is not impressive at all lol.but hey its a auto and im able to chrip the tires if I really gun it lol just curious
Also do any d-series engines respond well to a cat delete?

Its not an agonizingly noticeable gain. But a tad bit since there is nothin restricting the air passing through the muffler. It also illegal and you just may be killing small animals here in the wilderness.

Its a single cam. If you want power start saving for a swap. Not worth destroying the environment with a single for a .5hp gain. just my .02. Even on my 220whp B20V I run a cat. Gets rid of the "tinniy buzzy" sound and makes emissions easier to pass.

Here's a little tip.
As long as your internals are stock (such as cams, valve train, block etc)
The following:
Intake (cold air, short ram, etc)
Exhaust (catback, whatever brand name you get)
Headers (4-1, 4-2-1, whatever)
You're just gaining sound, so the more mods, the louder your D-series is.
