Default strange annoying noise 92 gsr

I need help with a noise that seems to be comming from the right front of the engine bay. It sounds like a some sort of pumping noise. Like old hotwater pipes that rattle when you turn on the shower. I have read other posts that suggest it might be the ABS pump. My ABS light is not on and the brakes seem to work fine. If I turn the car off when rolling down a hill while it is making the noise, the noise goes away. The noise happens with or without the clutch engaged and with or without being in gear. It is horrible. Please help.

The ABS pump motor will make a "growl" when the motor is activated. There are tiny passages inside the abs unit that can get clogged from dirty fluid. If you suspect the ABS to be making the noise try activating the ABS a few times(in a safe enviroment). This will sometimes flush out the dirt in the ABS motor. HTH

I had the same problem in my 93 GSR a while back. I was told to find a dirt field and slam on the brakes if it ever happened again. You could try that because I never had to and see if it fixes it.
