Default porting exhaust manifold

hey i was wondering if porting my stock gsr exhauast manifold was possilbe... and porting my collecter to a bigger demmision.. only reason why i say this is becuase i just bought the car and buyin headers is out of my price range at the moment.. compared to the $100 it will cost me to port macth my exhaust manifold. just wonderin if ne1 has done this.. and what type of numbers i might expect.. advice aprecaited..

shitty numbers. for $200 more you cna get a whole lot better. if you port your stokc header it'll only crack, get a hole sooner. just get an aftermarket header

I wouldnt expect much to be honest.

As for cracking...not too likely. I would say its not even worth the time to pull it off the car, have it done and reinstall it in terms of gains.

cracking not likely? the stock manis crack a lot.

if you cna't afford a $300 header. you throwing $100 out the door is gonna hurt you a lot. don't port it.

Have you seen a properly ported header that has cracked or is this what youve heard through the grapevine? Where do these cracks occur? Maybe the a-pipe is prone to coming apart, thats about it.

Its not likely. DPR has ported stock manifolds for years and years way before anyone other than Greddy & DC made headers for Integras and Ive never seen one cracked ported manifold.

Don't port the stocker. Thought it won't crack, its not gonna net very good gains. There are some who extrude hone the JDM ITR 4-1 header and reweld on the outside. A similar idea, but its not to increase diameter, just to smooth out flow.

while oyu have a header off its not a bad idea at all to port it. smoothing flow is always good, i port/polish mine. although the carbon will buildup on the polish, its still as smooth as its going to get. 3" down the header is how far i go...

i've heard numerous stories of stock untouched headers cracking, falling apart, and this guy wants to make the walls thinner..

Ive also heard numerous stories of UFO sightings and the lochness monster.

A cracked header is not any more common on Integras than any other car...so scarce it would be classified as a defect, not a flawed design.

Ive also SEEN ported stock headers that people have run for years without issue.

Again, you may have "heard stories" about the a-pipe coming apart...thats a flawed design. WAY different than cracking.
