Default magnaflow or ES oval?

just like the topic. im looking into the kteller8 exhaust system and i would like to know about mufflers. which one is better or is it personal preference? also, any idea on what size test pipe will fit my JDM 4-1 header. i searched and found that 16.5" will be the closest fit. anyone who has the kteller system let me know what setup you have and how you like it. thanks
andy

Ive had my Magnaflow resonators/muffler for 2 years or so now and am 100% satisfied. Great power, even better sound and it still is fine after 80k miles.

im running a mugen 4-1 with a carsound cat and kteller ss piping with the magnaflow muffler and magnaflow resonator everything is 2.5 straightthrough no bottlenecks,i just had it installed its a nice exhaust sounds good, the magnaflow muffler that kteller sells is pretty much exactly the same as the es oval muffler its a nice sound no rasp at all, i believe the stock cat is 17.5 inches but kteller should be able to provide a testpipe that fits and the exhaust sorta custom fits if you want to play around with it as in adjusting it so it will fit vaious cats and testpipes

The quality of Magnaflow products is unquestionable.

I've never used ES stuff so I can't compare them though.

I currently have a 2.5" exhaust that I made from mandrel bends using the Magnaflow 22" round muffler and a 4x9 oval in the rear. I'm happy overall with it. Were I doing it again, I believe I would try out one of these

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/pack.htm

or something similar as a center muffler/resonator.

i have the magnaflow 2.5" muffler. bbq paint black. it's terribly ugly but it looks stock to the untrained eye

It doesn't sound too bad as long as you have a resonator or a glass pack on the b-pipe.

ES Tuning and Magnaflow are two different companies. Some just refer to the oval Magnaflow mufflers as ES style since everyone knows what it looks like.

So what if they look alike? Doesn't seem to be a valid reason to conclude that they are the same mufflers. You happen to have pics to compare the two?

i got a kteller system, i added a strait through cherry bomb to it. i am 100% satisfied with the system, it has the same exhaust on that white R up there (the one without the wing) and its even sprayed flat black.

I would much rather run Magnaflow... a proven product, from a company that has been working w/ exhaust systems and such for ages...

Rather than..

An es oval.. what history does Es Oval have?

Magnaflow > Es Tuning

Mine has 2 resonators with a JDM ITR 4-1 and it is pretty quiet. Here is a little vid clip for an idea on how loud it is.
