Default 1st time swapping exhaust - any suggestions/opinions?

I bought a bolt on cat back I haven't put on yet. I also got a good deal on some headers <-- still in the box too. I kinda wanted some more info about the exhaust system. I mean, do I need a new cat? Can I bolt on w/ oem cat? Do I need a cat? (probably since I use her for street driving right) I have read postings about hi-flow cats and no cats and stuff, I dont really know where to start. Is that all I need? Should I take anything into consideration (i.e. sensors) when i swap this stuff? Will I need a pro for the headers? I want to do as much as I can myself.

You guys know your stuff, share your info.

Thanks!

buy a propane torch and some pentrating oil.

Spray on the bolts the night before you do it, i mean REALLY SPRAY THEM DOWN. Then the next morning heat the bolts RED HOT then try to loosen them. This will REALLY HELP you avoid breaking bolts.

I suggest you buy some new bolts for your new cat back as well.

If your state has emmisions tests then you will need to keep your cat. High flo cats arent a bad idea

I appreciate your help alot!
Quick ?: How do you find out if your state has emissions tests? Ihave never heard anyone say anything about them here. There's some pretty janky 'ricers' out here too, they're lucky if the have a muffler. LOL

Buy all new flange bolts for the install and a bottle of Permatex. "Never-seize" has saved my *** on many occasions.
