Two things would lead me to not do business with him.
One : His post count is too damm low.
Two : He is one of the 2003/04 noobies, BAN then all.
Good luck on getting either back.

whats up with their website? it doesn't exist anymore? ooh.. that's pretty shady..
and then... "MPI last posted at 11:11 AM 1/16/2004"
might wanna look into searching public documents like ficticious business name statements, trademarks, etc... it will have addresses and names... run reverse phone lookups... talk to the better business bueareu etc...

Good luck. The odds are against you, but I'd fight it out anyway.

I just called the number listed on that seller's signature:
MPI/ITR 98 1162
Nick/Joey

sales@massimoperformance.com
Instant Messanger: MPI of Chicago

No one picked up and it jumped to voicemail. But the name of the voicemail is Bob and the automated system said his mailbox if full.
I highly doubt that these guys are actually from Chicago......

I'm confused...why did you send the money order to this "guy" when you were ordering from this MPI place???
BTW, I rarely buy anything via classifieds, but when I do, I ALWAYS verify the address that payment is being sent to (i.e. a LISTED telephone no. or work address) and I ALWAYS send payment via certified mail with a return receipt...if the seller cannot agree to those terms, WALK AWAY.
Good luck anyway...

I know the feeling with this guy.I have had the same problem.I paid credit card for some rota slipstreams one time from this place and like a month and a half later I still had no rims.I called them up and they never answeared for a while and when I did talk to them they just gave me a runaround.I finally asked for my money back and 2 weeks later still no money so I had to get the credit card company to get it back for me.So to Massimo Performance

how does sending payment by certified/ return receipt get your money back??? if say you bought something from me. i could easily scam you still... this does nothing to secure your money... all it does is show an address and a signature... the address can be a friends house, and the signature well... who cares about a signature.
what you should have done was send a personal check. or used paypal and pay using your credit card on paypal not your bank account.. this way if he skips town your bank has a record of the fraud and can tell you which bank account the money was used to cash it or deposit it into... and the bank will reinburst you the money also when it comes to fraud......and as far as paypal remember paypal is not fdic insured they are not a bank. they are a money transfer company and have no legal recoarse after the funds from his paypal account have been used up... but if you use your credit card to pay using paypal your credit card company will follow through rigorously and find this bitch... one thing about credit card companies they dont f around.. and they will put this fraud in his credit report history... and they will find where he works through his social security number through the credit report filiing.......
sorry you got taken.. but there were things you could have done to protect yourself... hope things work out.

Any new news on this one? I know Chris N posted this over on the team-integra IL forum, and I've personally met the guy from here one time at a meet about 18 mos. ago.
Let me know...if not, I'm sure all the Chi-town guys can pay a visit soon.
