Looks good. How much does the Radiator&fan go for? And what about the fan? Does it just plug right in?

Those of us with CF hoods don't want to go hacking them up.

Those of you with CF hoods probably won't need to.

You could also just cut your radiator support. I did that and it worked fine for me.

Why wouldn't we? I know my hood has all the same skeleton underneath the hood that the stock hood has.

just cut it. dont be a *****. im sure you could make it look better than that. my hood is just shitty. i need to replace it anyways. the radiator rests on the crossmember, so it wont go any lower.

4th gen rad is single core 'double wide', the 5th gen in double core 'single wide'

runs just as cool as my old radiator, and it even has a higher pressure cap on it. (because the 5th gen cap is a higher press. than the 4th gen)

radiator = $100
cap = $7
fan = $60
all were from advance auto parts.

i try to keep the engine bay clean i've seen better tho.

oh ya, on the cooling aspect.

i'd have to say the 5th gen radiator has moore cooling capacity than a 4th gen, because it's not exactly half the size of it, it's a little bigger than half, it has 2 cores and it is taller. so if you unfolded it (so to say) it would have a larger surface area than the 4th gen radiator. my cooling fan hardly even kicks on either. and since it doesnt extend over to the exhaust manfiold it wont be experiencing as much heat soak from it, if that was a problem before, but probably not.

it also makes running intercooler pipes a lot easier.

Allows more room for larger turbo.

Wow, extremely nice and clean!! My 5th gen rad looks horrible. I cut the rad support and the hood skeleton. I don't have a nice mount like that either I just use the stock crx fan ghetto'd on there. But I must say very nicely done!!! These can be had for cheap, I picked mine up locally for $20

Kyle, have you noticed if the car warms up any quicker? I wonder b/c my 5th gen warms up damn quick where my crx takes miles to warm up in the same ambient temperature. TIA.

not really. about the same time. i'd think that quality would be centralized to the engine it self or the thermostat. maybe try a higher temp thermo in the crx?

I disagree that a 5G radiator has better cooling capacity. Remember that the air that is cooling the second row has already been heated by the first row. Because of this, you cannot say that a dual core radiator cools as well as a single core radiator that is twice as wide.

As for going with the half width radiator, nobosy does it for more cooling capacity. Rather, it is done to make room for a turbo.

It makes beautiful room for turbo. It cools just fine also, I've been in 100 degree heat with a turbo and the temp was dead steady. The rad even has a leak in it too (patching is on the 'to do' list)
