Nasty Burning Smell
I have not driven my lude for a couple months because I have been working on my suspension. I don't know if my problem could be related to it sitting for so long without being driven or even started up. I am getting some kind of smell that I am not familiar with. It is kind of like a burning smell. I can smell it when driving with the windows down and also out my exhaust. My engine isn't overheating or anything, but the valve cover is a lot hotter than normal after I drive the lude for a little bit. I had switched my spark plugs to some denso iridiums so I don't know if that might be a factor. Also, a ******* rat bit into my plug wires a little bit, but I don't think it is far enough to cause a problem.
Not sure if this is your problem, but a plastic bag got caught under my header once, and when I started the car it got stuck and melted on the piping due to the high heat. After a while I noticed a burning smell, somewhat like glue, I later found out what it was when I looked under my car
