will the 2nd gen crx hood and grill fit on the first gen? TIA

 

i wanted to know this too. my header panel was broken, so i wanted to put a 2nd gen crx front on my car. i know the headlights are a different shape..so youll probably have to put the fenders, bumper, lights, and hood. you would also have to put a new hood latch on there..

 

I am going to say "no" right off. The dimensions are not the same.

The 2nd gen is about 2 inches wider, and down to the edge of the lip is actually about 4 inches shorter than if you covered the header panel on the 1st gen.

So..no its not a bolt on. Of course i guess with the right tools you can make anything fit...

they make a 1 piece hood w/ header panel so its more like 2nd gen style...looks fuggin sweet!

 

I like that, but how do you get your fingers to the hood release?

not too sure but I'm sure the guy that makes em can tell ya...and for 460 shipped its not that bad of a deal...plus it looks soo damn good

also I guess u can run a cable to the grill hole there and pull it to release the latch

 

where can I get that hood? that looks badass.

never knew a first gen could look so clean

 

there is a guy that makes the hoods to order, he does either or header panel molded on or not in CF... It was a group buy kinda thing in the 3rd gen forums at http://www.redpepperracing.com I dont know if the guy is still doin it or what but last time it was 10buyers needed for it to go through

Not my car, I could have only wished my 1st gen looked like that

but if u do like the 3rd gen civic/1st gen crx http://www.redpepperracing is where u wanna be, they even have a guy that makes the mugen wide body kit!

 

I just wish I knew about all this stuff when I had my 1st gen
