Last week I installed a set of pedals... The work (drilling etc.) went straight and I was satisfied at the end... But now the brake pedal feels "soft"... Feels like I`ve to press the pedal 20% harder to achieve the same result.. I checked the hoses, fluid, pads, rotors... everything seems normal. I`m out of possible answers... Anybody ?



Before you begin to wonder: Brake pedal is directed to 1 o`clock position to support revmatching...

 

your imaging things, it's tghe same as before you just didnt relise it

yea i think you're imagining it too, all you did was stick some covers on your pedals it won't affect anything. I think it's just cause you're not used to your pedal being a little thicker(since there is a cover on it adding thickness) and having a different surface than stock.

 

i agree pedal covers will not chang anything .... "shakes head"

 

I`m not a n00b. I know installing pads doesn`t change anything normally. But the pedal feels soft and I`m looking for the answer what might have been happend during the install what causes that.

if the pedal feels softer, just bleed the brakes, and see if that helps...

Maybe because you are now pushing down on a larger surface area than before

 

Maybe the pedal covers are cheap and they are deflecting under the force of your foot? I noticed a difference in pedal feel when I took the rubber pads off my pedals and replaced them with skateboard grip tape, so maybe you are not imagining things?

 

no, OMP pedals are high quality pieces - they are metal, not cheap plastic. He just needs to bleed his brakes...
