There are tons of topics out about this. I have the icebox. It sounds nice, but it is definately not as loud as AEM. Thats a good thing for me...

I would gladly take the Comptech over any AEM any day.

I had an AEM and switched to the Ice box and love it. It's quiet, I've drivin thru swamps with it, and has the advantages of cold air and short ram.

I just recently installed a comptech icebox. I like the stealth look. I would choose my icebox over my ex-cai. Unfortunately, I decided to go boost and I have my "week old" comptech icebox for sale. Let me know if your interested.

Used

Aem CAI $100 > Comptech Ice Box $200

I say go with the CAI if you are not planning on driving through deep puddles...

ice box is not $200. you can get it for $160 tops, and ive seen used ones for $100, so i dont know what you're talking about.

the comptech arm is a waste, so dont bother with that. use the stock arm.

Dased530: retail is ~$160, so it should be no where near $200.

That's a little high. I got my Icebox and filter for $210 shipped about 8 months ago.

No, you can use your stock filter or a drop in K&N filter.

Icebox=$160
Filter=$70
Total=$230 - Add ground shipping and taxes, you're at around 250. Thats what mine ran for...straight from comptech.

I paid:
Icebox: $150
Filter: $60

Total: $210. Shipping was included and I didn't pay taxes since I purchased it out of state. I bought it from Velocity Resources and my stuff was drop shipped from Comptech.

You should have paid taxes velocity did a big no-no...because the product was originally made in california. I think I saw that page and could have gotten it a little cheaper, but I wanted it sooner than the week and a half that the guy told me it'd be.

why not get a K&N drop in filter and keep the rest stock... isn't that equivalent to the icebox?

Not really, since you still have the resonator. However a lot of people do the DIY Icebox with the stock box.
