I just bought a 92 civic hatch si and i went to open the hatch part up and i realized that when i pop the door from the inside, its only for the glass part. Ok, i can deal with that. Then i went around the car and came to realize that there is no handle for opening the glass. Odd??? So i used the wiper blade to open the glass up.

After searching around here for a specific answer, i came up empty. Why is it that no specific car comes standard with a handle. I have seen CXs, VXs, DXs and SIs with handles for all years, some without the rear wiper blade and some with. There is no set pattern as in only this specific model came with them, or that if you got a rear wiper you dont get a handle or visa versa. Am i missing something here or did Honda just randomly pick any hatch it wants to put a handle on???

If anyone could help me out with this question, its greatly appreciated.

Only 94-up came with it!!

 

My 92 vx didn't have one but my 94 vx did. I'm not sur what year they started adding the handle.

i got a 92 vx and i dont got one

 

I have a 94 CX and a 95CX and they both have the handle. SO the 94- up theory is right.

 

id rather not have one or the wiper looks cleaner
