yesterday, i was racing a Vr6 with my stock crx si, and when i power shifted from 2nd to 3rd it was pretty hard to get it into gear. Finally, when i put it into gear, it wouldnt come out, so i used the clutch and put it into neutral, when i let off the cluth it felt like it was still in gear. Next thing i know, 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and Reverse doesnt work, so i had to drive home in 2nd gear, what do you guys think i have to do and what caused the problem. Please respond ASAP. Thanx

 

sounds like you destroyed your sincro's for all the gears - if i were you, i would just get a used tranny somewhere for cheap, or get yours. actually, it may also be your shifter cables - they may have broke off or come off to make it impossible for you to get the tranny to shift into another gear. you may want to check that too. either way, your car is out of commission for now. sorry to hear that.

 

First off- your car doesn't have shifter cables-

When you say the gears don't work- are you saying you can't get it into gear?
Does it shift ok with the engine off?
Does reverse just grind or can you not get into reverse at all?

It is possible you bent or broke the shifter forks inside the trans.

 

i didn't mean cables, i meant the shifter rods that go to the tranny from the shifter itself. i don't know what they are called, but they can come lose or break off - and it sucks when that happens - my friend's crx did that and we had to replace a lot of little parts.

 

i can drive the car in second gear all the time, while the car is stopped, it can go into reverse, but the car itselft wont go reverse, so all i have right now is second gear,

 

note to self....dont powershift.!!
