alright my friend is getting his car dynoed soon, after he puts a new intake manifold from dh-racing in, and wants to get a base hp reading before. On his car right now he has:

dc-style headers
aem v2 intake
apexi n1 with 2.5

he's thinking about 160 to the wheels. im thinking more around 130-35 ish.

the dh-racing manifold GUARANTIES 25 to the wheels so he just intrested.

lol btw its a 99 gsr

 

a stock gsr has 140 to 150whp so i say its possible to have 160 whp.

 

25 horsepower from just an intake manifold?? I doubt that very much on a virtually stock GSR. Maybe on a highly boosted car if the intake manifold was just choking it to death.

ya they do claim it...says guarenteed 25 to the wheels in caps... not like: expect up to 25 hp, or we have seen 25 to the wheels. or some garbage like that.
i think mid 130s sounds right.

 

a GSR has more than mid 130s to the wheels, especially with bolt ons. probably closer to around 160 to the wheels depending on the quality of that header.

Also apparently it's just a ported OEM manifold... 25hp? that's questionable...

 

i made 169 with bolt-ons, tuned by me.

The only way to tell is get your car to a dyno. We have no clue...we don't know the condition of the engine, we don't know if you got a freak engine, etc. The guys told you above how much whp a GSR gets USUALLY. Its not the same for any GSR. But I will tell you one thing......

I GUARANTEE that Manifold does not increase your whp by 25. Just buy it, test it, get your money back if its guaranteed. Because there is no way. If it was true, everyone on this board would have one.
