Changing a/c belt on EK...need a little help...
Well, I'm changing out my belts today and I have the alternator belt changed. But how do you get the a/c belt off? I'm a little confused as to what you have to unbolt to get it off and put the new one on. This is on a 96 hatch. Thanks in advance.
It's kind of a PITA.
You've got to jack the car up. Remove the left (driver side) wheel. Support the motor with the jack.
Once that's all set up, you remove the AC mount nut (end of the stud), and the 2 bolts that hold the rubber AC mount to the chassis. Once you've done that, the belt can be removed.

man it shouldn't take you long at all. Just do what he said and jack it up and remove that lower torque mount that attaches to the ac compressor bracket. Then you just loosen the tension with the tensioner adjuster and slip the belt off.
Thanks guys. I got it all changed now.
No more squeakage now. haha! Thanks again. Just wasn't sure if that mount was what I needed to remove. Thanks again.
