Default What to look for when buying a GSR

Looking into buying a GSR in the next few months, 94-99, 2 door, 5 spd.

What to look for, what is the pros & cons. Will be a project car and a daily driver to start. Mod plans are the norm headers, exhaust, intake, chip - then I'll work up to cams, etc.. to work with a turbo after a few years.

Thanks in advance,

Shawn

you can basicly tell alot just by driving it in the condition its in, if your going turbo you should hope for low miles

Give it a compression test before you make any decisions.

theres alot of gsr's that people buy for comuters. try to lock into one of those! also, if it has miles, rebuild it but the gsr engine is very strong, so just check it out and ask questions. have some cash to take it to get serviced after u buy it.

a gsr that has been kept in running condition and has had the oil change is a good investment. A gsr with 100k on it and has had the oil changed religously is just being broken in.

Im the type that would only buy if i has never been modified with any aftermarket parts. Take a couple test drive and if you get a awesome deal....get it. ITR's prices are dropping, if you are interested in a type r.
