check engine light

my check engine light came on how can i get rid of it with disconecting the battery, i think it came on beacuse its time for maintnance because it just hit 50k miles. thanks

Look at your manual, there's instructions. But all you need to do is hold the reset button under the steering column, while you turn on the car.
If it was a CEL, you have to jump the service connector and read the flashes.

Sounds like you know some Honda tech. My CEL just came on. I have a 99 Prelude. I bridged the wires and the CEL threw 61. What is 61. I used to have the list of Prelude CEL codes but I lost it when I moved. I know that a 61 is O2 sensor for the pre 1999 Preludes but did the number change with the 99's?
It was six long flashes and one fast flash. This is 61---right?
