Default adjustable springs vs coilovers, need some help

I need to update the suspension on my project car, a 91 Integra. I went the cheap route with KYB shocks and Tein springs, but that has left me with a slammed front end, which is getting crushed on everything. Not only that, the back end is substantially higher than the front, so it looks gay. I am not to the point that I need adjustable dampening, so I could work with the basic Tein coilovers, or something like the Skunk2 adjustable springs.

What I am really trying to accomplish is to have all the fenders about an inch above all the tires, a nice drop, but not killing my car on pot holes and driveways. Although I may go to a few SCCA Solo events, this car is still my dailey driver and must function as such. I am also trying to be as cost effective as possible, but dont want to buy the wrong thing again.

I would appreciate any helpful discussion between the two options I am thinking about, or any other ideas that are cost effective.

Thanks

Are you looking for just the basic sleeve coilover? Or possibly a full coilover setup with threaded shock bodies?

I think that you need to do some research on whats out there and decide what level of quality you want. I recently purchased some Tein SS for 828 shipped from prostreetonline.com, check them out in the market place for sponsors on here.

From what I've read they are pretty much the most cost-effective option to be had. There are definetely cheaper set ups out there, but from hundreds of reviews that I've read they are the way to go.

There are always ground control coilovers.....a lil cheaper than a full coilover set up (+-300 new for set of 4 sleeves), and adjustable with an allen wrench and the turn of your hand.

I was wondering about something like this, because it would seem like there could be infinite dampers to use with the adjustable springs. Aside from the cash, I am having trouble seeing the inherent positives with using a true coilover. If there is one, please let me know.

Thanks

A true coil over is infinitely better than a sleeve. One reason is that most are made to work together as a spring/shock combo. Another is they are a better design, less prone to problems. Coilover sleeves are illegal here in Germany because they have been demeed not 100% safe.

if you are on a budjet and want a decent ride along with adjustability
you can pick up a set of Tokico Illumina full coilover suspension for around 650 bux

not a bad setup i say and you can always change spring rates and dampening to suit your needs at the moment
