Carbon fiber hoods
Anyone know of a carbon fiber hood that actually fits a CRX well? I am looking in to getting one, but all the ones that I have seen don't seem to be made very well. They all have a large gap where the hood line meets the front quarter panels, much wider than my stock hood.
just out of curiousity, what is the real difference between the carbon fiber and the metal hoods. i understand that the carbon is much lighter, but you could easily just cut the underside crap off the metal hood and bolt it on like a carbon fiber hood. what is the big thing with the cf hoods? is it weight, or looks?
Thanks! I posted without taking a look at the past threads....still, I think making my own mold for a CF hood would be a lot of work....
fiber image is one of the best CF hoods u can get...very nice quality...CF hoods are extremely light around 10-15lbs i believe...there was a crx in town that had one...i lifted it up and it felt like it had hydrolics on it...i dont think it would be lighter even if u took off all the supports under the metal stock hood...and if u did that to a stock hood ur gonna be taking a lot away from its strength...fiber images also makes the cool "bump up" CF hoods that fit the USDM headlights and fenders...
where can you get a fiber images hood? i thought jdm honda parts sold them but they don't anymore. i want an SiR one for my conversion and i know jdm honda parts sells carbon fiber hoods but who is the company that makes them?
