timing belt tensioner problem
its a ZC, and I have the motor out and the trans. off. I have the crank pulley off, that was actually pretty easy. i was having a problem with timing belt walking off the cams, I was told it was the tensioner. I have the tensioner off, but i don't know what to look for. there was nothing lying in the timing belt cover when It was taken off. it was just the tensioner and the bolt that holds it on, is there something I'm missing? i looked in the chilton manual and it shows that I have everything I should. If its complete, why is it making the timing belt?
do you have a lot of slack on the belt, front and back?
did you follow the tightening process, for the tnsioner?
have you checked your cam gears, to make sure that they are not bendt or broken?

when I tighten it, it tightens fine. i think im missing a washer. is there suppose to be a washer on the bolt that goes to the tensioner?
stupid question...i take it you had the zc running and then it would skip time correct?
if so, did you hear a bearing/whinning noise before it did this?
