rewiring iacv....
hey does anyone know how to rewire the iacv to a p28 ecu on an ek with obd1 lsvtec, type r manifold and stock ek harness. i think that the black and blue wire goes to pinout A9 so were does the yellow/black wire go to?
i need this because i think there is a short somewhere along the line. the yellow/black wire has 12v but the other two(orange and black/blue) has no ground. i don't know why. iacv clicks if i applie power though.
help!!!

What year EK?
If you have a 96-98, with 3-wire IACV, you will need to move the wire from A14 into the A12 position. If you have a 99-00, with 3-wire IACV, you will need to move the wire from B6 into the B23 position.
If you originally had a 2-wire IACV, the jumper harness should have taken care of this.
On a P28, pin A9 is the IACV control pin.

yes, i have a 97 ek. so what you're saying is that move the wire from A14 to A12 and add a wire from A9 from the ecu to the iacv. i'm guessing that the new A12 wire would be the power or positive wire while the A9 is the ground. but hey isn't A12 on the ecu engine coolant temp switch.
Err, no, not exactly. You can not physically plug in a P28 into a 6th gen Civic without the use a conversion harness. The conversion harness will have a wire from A12 (OBD2a side) to A9 (P28 side). But on your existing harness, you need to move THAT wire from A14 into A12.
A12 (OBD2a) controls the IACV...its a switched ground output. The Yel/Blk wire is what feeds the IACV +12v (through the Main Relay) which you'll find on the actual IACV plug.
D2 is used for ECT input on OBD2a.

oh i see. that just clearified my dumbness. hey thanks man i'm gonna go and try it out to see if it works. one more question though, do you have to do this if you swap out an ek to a b series motor, or some how i just got a short somewhere? cause like i say i get power through the yellow/black line but no ground on the others...
Why do you believe you have no ground....what you have done to verify this?
You don't always have to do this rewiring, quick example: You own a 99 Civic Ex coupe. You swap in a B16A2 (99 Si). The particular ECU for the B16A2 will plug directly into the existing wiring harness. The IACV will also be wired correctly, as both are 2-wire IACV's. But lets say you own a 99 Cx hatch. You can certainly swap in the B16A2 and its ECU plugs directly in as well. However this time, your hatch had a 3 wire IACV. Now you've got to wire on the 2-wire style IACV connector over your old 3-wire one and switch a wire at the ECU plugs.
So basically the answer is: Depends on the setup/swap.
