Hey H-T members I gotta question about my compression. Yes I have done a search and didn't get the answer I was looking for. I have a JDM B16 SirII engine in my hatch and I was wondering if anyone knew what the textbook compression should be. Not a ballpark ok figure should be but what Honda said it should have... New I suppose. I'm going to get it done tomorrow or the next day and I was very curious to see what I should be expecting. From my search I know what most say about their USDM B16 engines, but didn't see anything about JDM ones.
Also from my reading some mentioned that if ITR cams are introduced into the valvetrain the compression will drop some. Is this true?..and if so why

Also what gives the JDM B16 SirII 10 more hp over the USDM B16?...The JDM B16A SirII's have 170hp correct me if I'm wrong. I was just curious and thought I would throw this question in too. Thanks

 

anything under 180 is bad news... or so I've heard...

 

well i just did the same test on my b16...i have a us b16a, not jdm, so it may be a little different. with my milled head, i got 243 all the way across.

i assume that between 200 and 250 would be ok.

 

Hmmm....yeah but anyone know what honda says the jdm sirII should have?.....I'll post what I recieved after I get the test done.
Also anybody know about that 10 hp??
