just got insurance settlement...
What's up.
I have a 94 LS with a USDM 98 B20B swap, and I just got in a fight with a Dodge Durango. Dude spun on the highway and hit the left front. I got a check for $3200.00. Did the body work myself. I have $2600.00 left over after the whole car gets sprayed stock Milano red.
So I'm going to get a Jackson charger. Question is, how much boost can a stock B20B (8.8 to 1) handle safely and reliebly? I'm sure it'll hold 6 PSI fine, but what about 8? Any body know what kind of numbers I'll be laying down? I have cam gears, GSR exhaust manifold, and a gutted cat. Junked the factory airbox in favor of an open filter.
Is there a better way to go? All ready have a GSR mesh box and lightend flywheel ready to go in. I'm not sure I'd be presice enough to do full internals or headwork (excluding cams and springs).
Thanks Yo!

Only limitation is I can't spend more than the available funds ($2600.00).
I haven't seen any turbo kits that cheap, and I'm not sure I'd want one with out a FMIC.
Jackson seems to be economical and safer. I can already see myself creeping up the boost until the motor blows, if it was as easy as turning a screw, vs. changing a pully...
