2 quarts of oil every 2 weeks? help
My car isnt burning it and there is no leaking going on and i dont see anything. I have to put 2 quarts in every 2 weeks. cause my oil is below low every 2 weeks. It doesnt even register after 2 weeks so i ahve to put more in. Does anyone know what it could be? thanx
I would also like to know, similar crap happend to my CRX, never found out what it was
I remember someone saying something like a spun bearing would cause that, but i dunno how that would come about

Most likly the oil is going by the piston rings, the vacuum created when the piston goes down pulls a slight amount of oil past the rings, not enough to cause a driveabilty problem or smoke but enough to consume oil. A spun bearing could cause it but the engine would not run very long before it throw the rod out the side of your block, it would also be very noisy before it spit the rod. What wight oil are you using?
Mine was burning pretty crazy too even though the car ran fine, I poured in a bottle of stp? anti oil burning stuff for 4 cylinder engines and it has seemed to help.

Its not the rings guys....I had the same problem and had pretty good compression but I decided to change the rings and the problem still occured. What I think thats burning so much oil is that the sleeves have become worn and no matter how many time u change your rings it will never seat well because of the un smooth cylinder walls. I even tried honing the walls and doing all that good stuff and nothing helped.

if thats the problem, then bore out your block, hone it correctly with the 60º crosshatches, and buy bigger pistons..
