mixing synthetic oil

Default mixing synthetic oil

im in the middle of changing my oil and just found out i only have 2 quarts of amsoil left and i need 3 1/2 quarts for my car. can i go buy 2quarts of castrol syn. and just mix them? or is that not good for my car?

You usually not supposed to mix oil but i dont really think it would hurt it ....

you can mix full synthetic with full synthetic... I wouldn't mix anything else

You might want to use Mobil 1 instead of SynTec. Amsoil & Mobil 1 are made from type IV feedstocks, SynTec from type III. But I don't know if it'll really make a difference.
