CEL codes how to fix
i just checked my check engine light codes, and it gave me 1 short pause 7 short
so im getting code 1 and code 7
code 1 : Oxygen Sensor "A" (Primary) defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor
code 7 : TP Sensor (Throttle Position) defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor
i know my oxygen sensor became unplugged out of the harness some how i saw when i was changing my headers.
im in the process of fixing that but theres alot of snow out so im going to have to wait for that.
but im not sure whats up with the TP Sensor. My car runs fine. Although Ive had some trouble with the idle before. The trouble was that i can't adjust it. my throttle cable is too short and it isnt screwed into the bracket its zip-tied. I think i need it to be screwed so i can adjust the cable. there is no screw to adjust the idle on my throttle anywhere. does anyone have a picture of a tp sensor and how much does one cost? what will a faulty tps do? because my car drives and runs fine.

After plugging your O2 sensor back up, and resetting the ecu, it should take care of that "1" code. I don't know much about the throttle position sensor, if you have a repair manual it should list the steps to check it. I'd check the wires also, to make sure they're plugged in good.
its obd1, its 1 short blink, a long pause, 7 short blinks a long pause and then it restarts. i know the oxygen sensor isnt connected so code 1 is a definite. im not sure about the code 7 tho. car idles steady. drives fine. motor is strong. not sure.

TPS is on the throttle body, but you can't buy one separately. If you want a new one you gotta buy a throttle body. But you can take one off a junkyard car...

i took care of the oxygen sensor. i cant figure out what throttlel cable i need. there is another post for it. but i cant figure why im getting a cel for the tps. my car runs and idles and drives fine. there is a harness that isnt plugged in, i think it might for the intake air temprature but im not sure the harness plugs are diffrent on the plug than on the sensor in the intake. but the wire colors arent the same for the intake temprature. i think the wires on the harness were red and yellow. ill have to double check. but what would a cel for a tps do to the car when its in loop mode. are you losing any performance or gas mileage?
