My friend was driving his ITR today and suddenly heard a quick "POP" sound from his passenger side wheel area. After that sound, there is a constant hissssing sound that sounds like air is escaping. It gets louder if you drive the car harder.

He got home and took the wheel off. He rotated the rotor and couldn't duplicate the sound. He also checked the brake lines for any leaks and found none. Now the sound is constant and bugging the hell out of him.

What could it be?

 

is his fender lining intact? intake resonator?

 

Fender lining is there. The resonator has been removed.

 

maybe an axle boot?? mine hissed when i pressed on it.. I guess it was all of that offroading I did last year on the camping course at the expo

 

Did it hiss while rolling?

 

tire pressure still up?

 

It's not a nail in the tire or anything like that. Tire still holding in air like a champ.

 

blach check your door for any loose bolts the bushings it could be anything........

 

Tell your friend to tighten his damn lug nuts!!

 

maybe you ran over a bag....check your exhaust for a melted bag.....

 

None of those.
