I wanted to know which year prelude engine i should drop into my 95 accord dx, called a local junkyard they have a 94 h22 2.2 dohc vtec the engine for $2,500, and the tranny for $500. Engine has about 60k mi's on it. Just wanted to know if this is a good year model engine or should i find a newer model engine?

$2200 for complete changeover (with 5-speed tranny), with shipping you're looking at like $2700. For an extra $300 you can get it with an LSD tranny.
so basically it's a matter of whether you'd rather have the peice of mind of being able to check the motor out in person, or save a few hundred or use it to get the lsd tranny. HMO is pretty reputable, but if you can get a compression test done on the motor you're currently looking at, it might be worth it to spend a bit more.
i'd try to get them down to $2800-$2900 though.

yea hmotorsonline.com is a good place... a lot of people on here can vouch for them and my friend ordered the h22 complete changeover a while ago and it runs good... i just ordered mine today... if you want the lsd (which i did) you are gonna have to wait about 3 weeks cuz its backordered... if you dont want the lsd they will ship it out right away
can i say 'owned'? yes i can... and obviously youre a cunty douchebag... can you say it? "cunty douchebag" ??
he said motor & tranny... thats it. is the tranny even LSD? is he going to get the ecu? wire harness? mounts? i dunno about where you guys live but unless you mention all of that crap the guy at the junkyard isnt going to assume youre taking them... and unless if it fits in your pocket goodluck trying to take it.
only a motor and tranny for 3k is a ******* ripoff, now if 95accorddx says hes getting everything that he needs and its uncut then good for him. too bad he didnt mention it.

Too much i paid 3k for complete h22 swap into my 94 accord ex from raceup.com and that included install. I was lucky i live in south fl were raceup.com is located A++ for their install. And that price included power steering hose, downpipe modified to fit exhaust, and flywheel resurfaced.
hmm and to think its a junkyard motor... does it turn over? how well does it run? junkyards dont typically give too much money when you sell them a car... and you;d think the previous owner would have pulled the motor, tranny, ecu, etc and sold them... would have gotten more that way than selling the car to a junkyard
HEY TOAB QUIT TRIPPIN SON, I WENT TO THE JUNKYARD SAW THE PRELUDE WHICH WAS REAR END TOTAL'D ,ENGINE WAS IN GREAT SHAPE AND TURNED OVER, IS IS 3,000 FOR JUST THE MOTOR AND TRANNY, AND TOAB IF U READ THE THREAD I POSTED , AT THE END I ASKED WHAT ELSE DO I NEED ON THE SWAP. SO THANX FOR BEING A DOUCHE
AND I ASKED WHICH WOULD BE A GOOD YEAR MODEL H22 TO DROP IN, DIDNT GET A REPLY ON THAT, THANKS TO THOSE WHO HAD HELPFUL POSTS TO MY QUESTION
